These workshops combine a hands-on experience with a lecture and discussion on the transformation of rejected or trashed items that shed light on the causes and impact of climate change.
Lectures and discussions will be tailored to the needs and skills of the various grade levels.

ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENTAL CITIZEN WORKSHOP
Citizens from all over the world are rallying around the climate change issue and are taking action to lessen its negative impact. We are all concerned about our planet continuation. Each proposed Environmental Citizen Workshop for young students and young adult students is an engagement of young people into the worldwide movement to halt climate change. It aims to explain the relationship between climate change and our daily disposal of trash.
PURPOSE

To teach young children and young adult students about the harmful effects of the production of waste such as plastics that negatively impacts earth climate

To show how to recycle products in a creative way to reduce the excess production of these products which, in turn, will decrease the detrimental impact on our climate

To inspire young people to become informed and active environmental-friendly citizens of the world.
KNOWLEDGE CONTENT
Basic information that students will learn, include:

Waste and daily garbage we produce or discard are harmful to the planet climate. e.g.: cutting down forests
-
The disposal of these products can also be harmful to various forms of life on the planet.

Without recycling these products, the cycle of harmful production and deleterious disposal continues.

Recycling products can contribute to decrease the destructive cycle.

Art work can be created from recycled trash.

Every person can be environmentally aware and contribute to sustainability of the earth.
